Mentoring Parents/Whānau

Parenting has undergone a total transformation during my parenting time which spans 33 years. In that time parents have had to cease any physical form of punishment and adopt a continuous menu offered by a wide variety of experts and individuals claiming to have the magic recipe.

I meet parents who are disillusioned and despondent about their parenting fails and the behaviours their children are exhibiting, they are seeking strategies and answers to a very complex range of issues.

Failure is best viewed as our first attempt at learning. Learning to parent is one of the toughest tasks any of us have ever faced and few if any of us had a degree to qualify us in this subject area.

I combine my personal and professional experience, my personal philosophy and my sense of humour to offer parents a way forward.

Our end goal of parenting is to create well balanced, self-managing individuals that can live a healthy life, mentally and physically. They can maintain positive relationships and communicate effectively in an ever-changing society.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, let me be part of your village.

I offer:

  • Working with individual families and/or children

  • Working with groups
