DATES:

  • Wednesday 23 July 2025 TIME: 7.00 pm (NZT)

  • Wednesday 20 August 2025 TIME: 7.00 pm (NZT)

DURATION: 90 minutes

OVERVIEW: In a world that’s moving faster than ever, the most important skills we can nurture in our children aren’t academic—they’re emotional.

This engaging and practical 90-minute workshop is for parents who want to better understand how to support their child’s emotional development and social well-being at home, at school, and in life. Whether delivered face-to-face or online, this session explores the vital role parents play in shaping emotionally intelligent, resilient, and empathetic young people.

Based on the acclaimed PLAY IS THE WAY® methodology, you’ll discover how social and emotional learning (SEL) builds the inner strength children need to navigate relationships, setbacks, and the challenges of growing up. You’ll explore:

  • What emotional intelligence really is—and why it matters more than ever

  • The 5 powerful Life Raft Concepts that guide children’s behaviour

  • The 6 key virtues on the Pathway to Empathy

  • Why games are more than play—they're essential tools for growth

  • How to build a strong partnership between home and school to support your child’s development

Together, we’ll consider how to raise not just “happy” kids, but well-beings—young people with the confidence, compassion, and character to thrive in life.

Because developing emotional intelligence isn’t just a school goal—it’s a family journey.
